Josko Gvardiol (Croatia), who emerged as one of the next great defenders at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, has joined European champions Manchester City.

The English Premier League club announced the signing of Gvardiol from Leipzig in Germany on Friday. He has signed a five-year contract and will wear the number 24 shirt.

Gvardiol, 21, played for Leipzig in Germany after joining Dinamo Zagreb in his home league. At last year’s World Cup in Qatar, he led his country Croatia to a third-place finish and was rated the best defender.메이저사이트

With a young and potent striker in Elling Holland up front, City will be further strengthened by the addition of Gvardiol, a promising big defender.

Gbardiol described City as the best team in the world. “Anyone who watched them play last season knows that they are the best team in the world,” he said on the club’s social media accounts. “To win the treble shows the quality of the team.”

Gervinho is also looking forward to being coached by Pep Guardiola. “I’m not a finished player yet,” he said, “and I’m sure I can improve under the best coach in the world.”

Guardiola was happy to play alongside his Croatia international teammate Mateo Kovacic, who joined City from Chelsea. “Kovacic is one of the best players in the world,” he said, “and I want to achieve success with him this season and beyond.”
