Tiger Woods (USA) is back in action.
Woods announced on social media that he will compete in the Hero World Challenge ($3.5 million purse), a “special event” on the U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour, later this month. It will be his first tournament in seven months since he underwent surgery to treat inflammation of the peroneal bone in his right ankle after the Masters in April.
The Hero World Challenge will take place on April 30 at Albany Golf Course (par 72-7449) in the Bahamas. It is organized by the Tiger Woods Foundation and features 20 of the world’s top players. It’s not a regular PGA Tour event, but it does award world ranking points. Last year’s winner was World No. 4 Viktor Hovland (Norway), who won his second straight title.
Woods has been dealing with the after-effects of compound fractures sustained in a car accident in February 2021. He was often seen limping and struggling to walk during tournaments. After her surgery, she did not compete at all. 아톰카지노
Woods recently showed off his full swing at a public lesson and caddied for his son, Charlie, at a tournament to show he’s healthy. “The ankle is fine,” he told the AP, “and the pain is completely gone.” Woods, who has 82 career wins on the PGA Tour, won the Hero World Challenge in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2011.
